Welcome to Championship weekend: the made up weekend to expand college football’s shadow into December and to line the pockets of a few conferences that have title games. But even though these conference title games are a huge money grab, at least we get one last weekend of games that will decide who goes to what glorified scrimmage in a warm weather city (aka a bowl game).

Thursday, December 3rd

America, welcome to Oregon and all the Civil War has to offer. This might be the best rivalry game on the west coast. Mike Riley has brought Oregon State to the brink of their first Rose Bowl berth in 45 years and Oregon looks to get back for the first time since the 1994 season. Oregon is a huge favorite as they are at home and dominated in this game last year in Corvallis, but the Beavs have Jaquizz Rodgers back and hopefully the game will be very entertaining.

Arkansas State @ Western Kentucky (Sun Belt TV, 7pm) – Todd Kalas, Derek Rackley (Will Air on CSS, CST)

Oregon State @ Oregon (ESPN, 9pm) – Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews

Friday, December 4th

The MAC has brought the ESPN family of networks many entertaining games through the years and the Chippewas’ battle with the Bobcats could be another one. CMU has Dan LeFevour who has been the best player in the conference for the last two years and hopes to knock out Frank Solich and Ohio.

MAC Championship: Central Michigan v. Ohio (ESPN2, 8pm) – Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore

Saturday, December 5th

At noon Eastern on Saturday the ESPN/ABC networks will all have a game and two of them are meaningful. The alleged best game will be the defacto Big East title game between Cincinnati and Pitt, and if Matt Millen drives you to turn the volume off you can head to ESPN2 and hear Ron Franklin and wish Ed Cunningham would stop talking as Houston and ECU battle for the Conference USA title.

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh (ABC, Noon)- Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Holly Rowe

West Virginia @ Rutgers (ESPN, Noon)- Dave Pasch, Bob Griese, Chris Spielman

Conference USA Championship: Houston @ East Carolina (ESPN2, Noon)- Ron Franklin, Ed Cunningham

Fresno State @ Illinois (BTN, 12:30pm)- Wayne Larrivee, Chris Martin, Charissa Thompson

San Jose State @ Louisiana Tech (ESPN Plus, 2pm)- Trey Bender, Jay Taylor (Will Air on CST, MASN)

The only people watching USC/Arizona will be fans of the two schools as the rest of America’s college football watchers will be listening to Verne and Gary with their Tebow kneepads on promote the Gators to the point of making the rest of America vomit. However, the winner of the SEC title will play in the Rose Bowl on January 7th against Texas or TCU.

New Mexico State @ Boise State (KTVB, 3pm) – Mark Johnson, Tom Scott, Justin Corr

California @ Washington (CSN California+/FSN Washington, 6:30pm) – Barry Tompkins, Mike Pawlaski/Tom Glasgow, Mack Strong, Jason Stiles, Jen Mueller

In the primetime window we will see if Nebraska can pull the upset and keep Texas out of the national title game and a meaningless ACC title game will be played in Tampa that again no one outside of Atlanta or Clemson will watch because they both lost to middling SEC teams last weekend. For the insomniacs, Wisconsin will travel to Hawaii and play into the wee hours of Sunday AM.

Ah, Week 12—or as it used to be called (before the BcS), Rivalry Weekend. This used to be the best weekend of the year but with the bastardization of rivalry weekend for TV and the 12-game schedule all we have is Harvard-Yale, Stanford-Cal and Ohio State-Michigan to pull us through a potential horrible weekend. (I have said this I think six times and only one or two weekends have been truly horrible.)

Thursday, November 19th

Well this game should be a blowout but they never seem to go that way on Thursday nights. I wonder if this season ESPN has gone to getting Erin Andrews corner suites so that no one has access to her room?

Colorado @ Oklahoma State (ESPN, 7:30pm) – Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews

Friday, November 20th

Whee, another Boise State weeknight game. Lucky for them Utah State is awful or I might be worried for the Broncos on the road.

Boise State @ Utah State (ESPN2, 9:30pm) – Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore

Saturday, November 21st

This is a horrible set of games but ABC is force-feeding us the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry—which Michigan has won only once since Senator Sweatervest has arrived from Youngstown (so apparently he is the anti-John Cooper). Also on Versus (if you get the channel) you can watch Harvard-Yale, which is the Future Millionaires of America rivalry. So many games … none of which are really worth blocking out four hours for.

In the midday window I would recommend you watch the NotreDame Broadcasting Company try and save Charlie Weis. The SEC game of the week on CBS is not worth watching so at 4 Eastern you can checkout ASU at UCLA from the Rose Bowl just for the views from the blimp.

In the evening window (again, if you get Versus) you can watch the battle for the Ax in the Big Game as Cal comes to the Farm to take on Stanford. Then in part of the country (not the part I live in) you can also checkout Oregon’s return trip to Tucson to take on the Wildcats. The last time Oregon came to Tucson they were #2 in the country and Dennis Dixon was a Heisman favorite and he destroyed his knee and Oregon lost their last 3 games.

Welcome to Week 11. We have very few games that mean anything (again) and I missed all of the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday action so here is how you should spend your Saturday watching college football.

Tonight is Friday the 13th and will it be bad luck for Cincinnati as West Virginia comes up the road to the Queen City to take on the Bearcats. This could be the best game of the weekend if WVU plays well or we could get a Cincinnati blowout and people will get to hear more about Cincinnati and Brian Kelly leaving to coach at Notre Dame.

Now, at 3:30 Eastern we have a few interesting games that will glue me to my couch. Florida travels to South Carolina to possibly end the Ole Ball Coach’s run with the Gamecocks. If Coach Spurrier can pull the upset, he will end the Gators run and save America from Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow. Over on ABC (part of the country) you can watch Iowa fall apart and give the Rose Bowl berth from the Big 11 to the Buckeyes. Also at 3:30pm, on FSN, Stanford comes to LA to try to continue their run through alleged heavyweights of the Pac-10 and give Pete Carroll his first loss in November.

In prime-time we have one game that means something and another that I will watch hoping to see the end of the Tuna. Utah comes to Fort Worth to take on the 9-0 Horned Frogs and end their Cinderella hopes. Can the Runnin’ Utes pull the upset, or will the TCU defense keep dominating opponents and roll towards a BCS bid? Also, on ABC we can all hope that Pittsburgh kills the Fighting Irish and we can watch the camera shots of Chuck Weis rubbing his gut as he contemplates running back to Bellichick.

We also will have a new Pac-10 champ for the first time since 2002 thanks to the USC defense deciding that umbrella coverage and no pressure would be the best way to stop Oregon. Oh well. Now it is time to move into November and hope that Iowa loses soon.

Again, mute the game and hope Virginia Tech blows them out.

(Oh, and why was the USC/Oregon game not on ESPN2 last week here in Texas??? I was promised HD coverage on ESPN2 all day and yet the game was blacked out, WTF?
The best game in the evening window is Oregon State at Cal. The ABC regional 8pm Eastern nightmare is just a mess. 20% of the country gets SC @ ASU, Big 12 country gets OU @ Nebraska and the Northeast gets their first look at Cincinnati as they host UCONN. You might care that Cincinnati could go undefeated but they should roll over UCONN without much effort. FSU @ Clemson is no longer the Bowden Bowl but now it could just be another loss for Bobby as C.J. Spiller should go nuts running the ball with the announcement of Mickie Andrews’s retirement. I will watch all of this but having a Pac-10 game getting the National spotlight on FSN is a big deal; of course Mike Pawlawski as the color man in the booth could be interesting as he was the last good Cal QB.

Well we come to Halloween and we might know less about college football than we knew two months ago. I am stunned that the SEC has teams #1 & #2 and they both looked awful this past Saturday. Of course, USC played no defense for the 5th consecutive quarter and they need to be up for a 60-minute battle at Autzen with the loud crowd on Halloween night. Texas plays the last game they will not be at least a double-digit favorite in when they travel to Stillwater to play the Dez Bryant-less Oklahoma State Cowboys. I hope that we get to November with more chaos and more questions as clarity in college football is not nearly as much fun.

A trip to Blacksburg is apparently something that college football fans should do, but at this point they’ve choked away their season and are now just an afterthought since starting the season in the Top 10.

Ok, so I am stunned by the Gameday decision to go to Eugene for SC/Oregon. I had them back with Texas and in Stillwater since they seem to think America would rather watch Texas than USC (80% of America got the Texas game last week). However, they decided that a trip to Autzen would be more fun and they can talk about the turnaround at Oregon, LeGarrette Blount, and then Matt Barkley and what happened to the SC defense. They also left Kirk and Brent to call the SC game so then they can have Kirk with Chris on the set after the game on SportsCenter as well.

The Indiana-Iowa game gives ESPN the opportunity to prop up Iowa and show how great they might be, or they can show them choke it away when a bad Indiana team visits Kinnick Stadium. That is the only game worth watching at Noon.

Here we go, kids: the BCS Standings are out and as per usual they make no sense. However, the answer this time is that the computers don’t take into account half the season and the formulas are designed for a full 12-game schedule. Therefore, America doesn’t need to get bent out of shape about ratings that are not real and don’t mean anything until December 6, 2009.

Now, as a fervent BcS hater, I cannot decide what I want more: Four or more one-loss major conference teams and Boise St or TCU undefeated; or one undefeated team from the BcS conferences and TCU or Boise or both undefeated and them getting left out.
Gameday is in Provo. Again, everyone take a deep breath as the battle between TCU and BYU is the best game of the week. Fowler, Herbie, Corso, and Desmond will focus on this Mountain West battle and how important it is for TCU as they need to stay undefeated to have a shot at the BcS. They might also cover how BYU has a huge advantage by having married guys who go on missions and are now in their middle 20’s instead of gawky teenagers figuring out college. Also, Herbie will get to fly from Provo, Utah to Columbia, Missouri to call another Texas game as they are ABC’s #1 team (since CBS gets all the SEC teams first).

The 3:30pm Eastern window brings you an interesting game on every major network so hopefully you have picture-in-picture or with the amount of commercials you can easily flip from one to the other and not miss very much. CBS brings us Verne and Gary in Alabama for Tennessee’s visit. This game used to be played every year on the 3rd Saturday in October; now it is the 4th Saturday and no seems to mind because the SEC has more money than everyone thanks to CBS and ESPN. On the NotreDame Broadcasting Company you can see if ND will bounce back against another rival Charlie Tuna has never beaten: Boston College. Finally, in the ABC regionalization package every area gets an interesting game. Penn State travels to Ann Arbor to see if they can stay in the Big 11 race. Oklahoma travels to Kansas without Sam Bradford to face the Jayhawks who laid the biggest egg last weekend losing to a terrible Colorado team. Oregon heads to Washington for a battle of schools that do not like each other at all and Oregon needs to make sure not be looking ahead to SC’s visit on Halloween. Finally, in the ACC, Miami hosts Clemson and we will see if Miami can enjoy prosperity and stop C.J. Spiller.

In the evening window, there are a ton of games worth watching. Starting at 7pm, you can start with Iowa at Michigan State on the Big 11 network to see if Iowa can get a lead this week. Then at 7:30 flip over to Florida at Mississippi State to see how they decide to bury Dan Mullen as Urban loves to do to those who leave. Also, at 7:30pm on Versus (sorry DirecTV subscribers) the Gameday crew (minus Corso and Hebrie) will get to stand on the sidelines and see the Mountain West’s best teams. Then at 8pm Eastern ABC will give you Texas again for the majority of the country and USC will get a chance to avenge last year’s loss to Oregon State. If you are watching the USC game you might need to try and sync your DVR with the radio broadcast because Mike Patrick is awful.

I know that ESPN is giving us games on Tuesday and Wednesday night to counter-program the baseball playoffs since they got pushed out by TBS. I had not watched a game they broadcasted really this year and I was forced to this past weekend as the people I was with cared more about the Big 11 game than Florida/LSU and Brent has lost it and Kirk doesn’t ever give any analysis at all when doing games.

Can we really already be five weeks into the College Football season? So far we’ve seen #3 lose (twice), #4 lose, #5 lose, #6 lose, and #7 lose—so we could be looking at 2007 all over again. Or a Texas/Florida title game, which would make me throw up, because 5 weeks of Tebow/McCoy banter would be terrible. (ESPN would love it and I would do my best to forget the channel for that month).

Now onto Week 5; let us all hope that everyone has at least one loss by Thanksgiving.

Wednesday, September 30th

ESPN brings us Wednesday night football this week (a week earlier than normal, they usually wait until the baseball playoffs since TBS forced them out of the broadcast contract). Now, this Hawaii/La Tech game will allow Lou Holtz to annoy America for 3 hours and for those hoping to see Boise St lose, you can see if Hawaii has anything at all.

Hawaii @ Louisiana Tech (ESPN2, 8pm) – Rece Davis, Mark May, Lou Holtz, Rob Stone

Thursday, October 1st

Two games on Thursday, but only one most of America can see, as ESPN rolls the Thursday night party into Morgantown, WV. This game should be terrible because Colorado is terrible. By the way, what is with Erin Andrews? The glasses were apparently a one-time test during the Saturday game in Week 3—or maybe they’re for day games only. (I have no idea why I am fascinated by this, because Wendi Nix looked better in glasses than EA.)

Colorado @ West Virginia (ESPN, 7:30pm) – Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews

Southern Mississippi @ Alabama-Birmingham (CBS College Sports, 8pm) – Dave Ryan, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila

Friday, October 2nd

If you haven’t gotten enough you can watch Pitt and Louisville be terrible on ESPN2. I will not watch this, and you should not either. BYU gets relegated to the Mountain West Channel that I have neither seen nor care to.

Pittsburgh @ Louisville (ESPN2, 8pm) – Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore

Utah State @ 21 Brigham Young (MTN, 9pm) – Bill Doleman, Blaine Fowler, Toby Christensen

Saturday, October 3rd

Gameday is in Boston for BC/FSU: ESPN will do a huge feature on BC Linebacker Mark Herzlick and his battle with cancer. This is also like a home game for ESPN and with no huge games this weekend I can see the Finance department driving this decision.

Anyway, there are three interesting games in the early window on Saturday, as the Big 11 takes over the airwaves. First, ESPN gives you another chance to check out TCF Bank stadium as Wisconsin sees if they can win on the road in conference this year. On the Deuce, let’s see if Iowa lets down when Arkansas State comes to Kinnick Stadium; big letdown spot for the Hawkeyes. Finally, Michigan leaves Ann Arbor to go to East Lansing and play the disappointing Spartans who usually play well in this rivalry game, but the noon start might hurt the home-field advantage.

Wisconsin @ Minnesota (ESPN, Noon) – Dave Pasch, Bob Griese, Chris Spielman

Arkansas State @ 17 Iowa (ESPN2, Noon) – Pam Ward, Ray Bentley

Clemson @ Maryland (ESPNU, Noon) – Clay Matvick, David Diaz-Infante

East Carolina @ Marshall (CBS College Sports, Noon) – Tom Hart, Aaron Taylor

Michigan @ Michigan State (BTN, Noon) – Wayne Larrivee, Chris Martin, Charissa Thompson

Northwestern @ Purdue (BTN, Noon) – Ari Wolfe, Anthony Herron, Tony McGee

Alabama @ Kentucky (SEC Network, Noon) – Dave Neal, Andre Ware, Cara Capuano (Will Air on FS Detroit; CSN Bay Area, Washington; Comcast Network; MSG)

South Florida @ Syracuse (Big East Network, Noon) – Mike Gleason, John Congemi, Quint Kessenich (Will Air on CST, MASN)

Virginia @ North Carolina (Raycom, Noon) – Steve Martin, Rick Walker, Mike Hogewood

Toledo @ Ball State (ESPN Plus, Noon) – Michael Reghi, Doug Chapman

Virginia Tech @ Duke (ESPN360, Noon) – Dave Weekley, Danny Kanell

Cincinnati @ Miami-OH (ESPN360, 1pm) – Jim Barbar, Bob Chmiel

In the 3:30 Eastern window, there are three games worth watching (if you have GamePlan you can see all of them). ABC Regional coverage divides the country with the game from Boston that no one should watch, along with Penn State at Illinois another game you should avoid after I overloaded you on Big 11 games early on. So, I would suggest Washington and ND on the Notredame Broadcasting Company or UCLA at Stanford on ABC if you want to scout future USC opponents. Also at 3:30pm eastern the SEC game of the week on CBS is LSU @ Georgia. LSU is the newly anointed #4 team and will they blow a Top 5 match-up next week in Baton Rouge with Florida.

Kansas State v. Iowa State (FCS Central, 3pm) – Dan McLaughlin, Yogi Roth, Samantha Steele

Louisiana State @ Georgia (CBS, 3:30pm) – Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson

Washington @ Notre Dame (NBC, 3:30pm) – Tom Hammond, Pat Haden, Alex Flanagan

Penn State @ Illinois (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30pm) – Mike Patrick, Craig James, Heather Cox

Florida State @ Boston College (ABC/ESPN2, 3:30pm) – Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Holly Rowe

UCLA @ Stanford (ABC, 3:30pm) – Dave Lamont, David Norrie

New Mexico @ Texas Tech (FSN, 3:30pm) – Bill Land, Gary Reasons, Emily Jones

North Carolina State @ Wake Forest (ESPNU, 3:30pm) – Todd Harris, Charles Arbuckle

Air Force @ Navy (CBS College Sports, 3:30pm) – Craig Bolerjack, Randy Cross

Florida International @ Louisiana-Monroe (Sun Belt TV, 3:30pm) – Todd Kalas, Derek Rackley (Will Air on CSS, CST)

Western Michigan @ Northern Illinois (CSN Chicago, 3:30pm) – Dave Kaplan, Bob Chmiel, Jim Blaney

Memphis @ Central Florida (Bright House, 3:30pm) – Drew Fellios, Mark Royals, Dave Baumann

Central Michigan @ Buffalo (Time Warner-NY, 3:30pm) – Howard Simon, Brian Koziol

Ohio @ Bowling Green (BCSN, 4pm) – Greg Franke, Tom Cole

This weekend we do not get a late game on FSN so we have three windows of action. In the evening window, there are again 3 games that I would recommend. First, on ESPN2 at 7pm Eastern, Texas A&M and Arkansas from Jerry World in Arlington, Texas. This is the 2nd college game Jerry Jones has bought to bring to his stadium and this one involves his beloved Razorbacks who will see if they can stop the Aggie offense that has been scoring at will against three cupcakes in College Station.

At 8pm ABC screws the country again by regionalizing the OU/Miami game and SC at Cal. Find a place showing both or if you have GamePlan enjoy flipping back and forth. ESPN has an SEC night game; let’s see if Lane Kiffin can win a conference game and prove that Auburn hasn’t really played anyone yet.

Oregon State @ Arizona State (Versus, 7pm) – Ron Thulin, Kelly Stouffer, Lewis Johnson

Mississippi @ Vanderbilt (ESPNU, 7pm) – Eric Collins, Brock Huard

South Carolina State @ South Carolina (ESPN Classic, 7pm) – Bob Wischusen, Brian Griese

Ohio State @ Indiana (BTN, 7pm) – Craig Coshun, Glen Mason, Rebecca Haarlow

Texas A&M v. Arkansas (ESPN2, 7:30pm) – Mark Jones, Bob Davie

Tulsa @ Rice (CBS College Sports, 7:30pm) – Jason Knapp, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila

Georgia Tech @ Mississippi State (SEC Network, 7:30pm) – Doug Bell, Chris Doering (Will Air on CSS, CST)

Auburn @ Tennessee (ESPN, 7:45pm) – Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Erin Andrews

USC @ California (ABC, 8pm) – Ron Franklin, Ed Cunningham

Oklahoma @ Miami (ABC, 8pm) – Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Lisa Salters

Southern Methodist @ Texas Christian (MTN, 8pm) – James Bates, Todd Christensen, Cash Sirois

UC-Davis @ Boise State (KTVB/CSN California, 8pm) – Mark Johnson, Tom Scott, David Augusto

Washington State @ Oregon (OSN/CSN Northwest, 9:15pm) – Joe Giansante, Anthony Newman

Colorado State @ Idaho (ESPNU, 10:30pm) – Carter Blackburn, Jon Berger

Week 4 is here and the USC season is over. 11-1 is not going to get it done from the Pac-10 with 3 SEC schools in the Top 4 and Texas playing nobody but the 2 schools in Oklahoma for the rest of the season. So, with that we look forward to more college football weekends that will hopefully suck a lot less than last weekend did.

Thursday, September 24th

Thursday night brings us ESPN going back to the SEC for a showdown between #4 Ole Miss and The Ole Ball Coach’s Gamecocks. Can the South Carolina defense do enough to slow down Jevan Snead and will Erin Andrews continue to wear her glasses on the sideline to try and change her image?

Mississippi @ South Carolina (ESPN, 7:30pm) – Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews

Friday, September 25th

America will get its second look (first really) look at Missouri and their new QB Blaine Gabbert. Can Mizzou stop the Wolfpack Pistol? Will traveling to Reno (Biggest Little City in the World) be a huge mistake for the Tigers (who look to be a sleeper candidate in the Big 12 North)?

Missouri @ Nevada (ESPN, 9pm) – Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore

Saturday, September 26th

Gameday travels to State College, PA (I guess because they are hoping Miami beats Va Tech and they get to go to Miami for OU at Miami next week? Or have they just decided that they need Herbstreit on site for the post game stuff because Howard and Corso are really losing it?) I can’t wait for SC to get ripped for turnovers (which they should more than anything else).

In the Noon Eastern window the best game is on ESPNU as South Florida travels to Florida St. FSU needs to continue their momentum from the win in Provo and SFU hopes a win will make Florida a four-big-schools football state. Also, TCU at Clemson is an interesting match-up but it’s only available on ESPN360.com.

Michigan State @ Wisconsin (ESPN, Noon)- Dave Pasch, Bob Griese, Chris Spielman
Indiana @ Michigan (ESPN2, Noon)- Pam Ward, Ray Bentley
South Florida @ Florida State (ESPNU, Noon)- Clay Matvick, David Diaz-Infante
Southern Mississippi @ Kansas (FSN, Noon)- Joel Meyers, Dave Lapham, Jim Knox
Minnesota @ Northwestern (BTN, Noon)- Wayne Larrivee, Chris Martin, Charissa Thompson
Louisiana State @ Mississippi State (SEC Network, Noon)- Dave Neal, Andre Ware, Cara Capuano (Will Air on MSG; FS Detroit; CSN California; Comcast Network)
North Carolina @ Georgia Tech (Raycom, Noon)- Steve Martin, Rick Walker, Mike Hogewood
Fresno State @ Cincinnati (Big East Network, Noon)- Mike Gleason, John Congemi, Quint Kessenich (Will Air on Altitude, CST, MSG)
Buffalo @ Temple (ESPN Plus, Noon)- Michael Reghi, Doug Chapman
Marshall @ Memphis (CSS, 1pm)- Richard Cross, Brian Jordan, Melissa Lee
Texas Christian @ Clemson (ESPN360, 1pm)- Dave Weekley, Danny Kanell
San Diego State @ Air Force (MTN, 2pm)- Ari Wolfe, Blaine Fowler, Andrea Lloyd
Wake Forest @ Boston College (ESPN360, 2pm)- Ryan Rose, Jeff Genyk

In the 3:30pm Eastern window we get beaten over the head with ABC Regional College Football. We also get Verne and Gary and the SEC game of the week from CBS. I hope that Cal/Oregon is a good game and that Arkansas plays well at Alabama; however I have higher hopes for the former rather than the later. Also, Miami is now the media’s favorite team and I think they are going to lose in Blacksburg and ruin ESPN’s dream for the OU/Miami Gameday and 8pm kick next weekend.

Arkansas @ Alabama (CBS, 3:30pm)- Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson
Illinois @ Ohio State (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Ron Franklin, Ed Cunningham
Miami @ Virginia Tech (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Holly Rowe
California @ Oregon (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Terry Gannon, David Norrie
Texas-El Paso @ Texas (FSN, 3:30pm)- Bill Land, Gary Reasons, Emily Jones
Pittsburgh @ North Carolina State (ESPNU, 3:30pm)- Todd Harris, Charles Arbuckle
Western Kentucky @ Navy (CBS College Sports, 3:30pm)- Craig Bolerjack, Randy Cross
Central Florida @ East Carolina (ISP Sports, 3:30pm)- Patrick Kinas, Billy Weaver, Brian Meador
Rutgers @ Maryland (ESPN360, 3:30pm)- Jim Barbar, Jeremy Bloom
Troy @ Arkansas State (Sun Belt, 4:30pm)- Todd Kalas, Derek Rackley (Will Air on CSS, CST)

In the early evening window, we get some interesting match-ups. I will be interested in seeing Florida on the road at Kentucky as well as the Brent and Kirk game in Happy Valley (which should be a Penn State blowout). All over the dial you can find a game—the problem is that I don’t care about Notre Dame at Purdue on ESPN (I might flip by that game to see Erin Andrews and to see if the glasses are a Saturday only thing if we don’t see them Thursday @ South Carolina) and having DirecTV means I cannot see Arizona at Oregon St.

Florida @ Kentucky (ESPN2, 6pm)- Mark Jones, Bob Davie
Colorado State @ Brigham Young (MTN, 6pm)- James Bates, Todd Christensen, Sammy Linebaugh
Arizona State @ Georgia (ESPNU, 7pm)- Eric Collins, Brock Huard
Ball State @ Auburn (FSN Regional, 7pm)- Bob Rathbun, Dave Archer, Jenn Hildreth (Will Air on FS Midwest, South, Southwest; SUN)
Maine @ Syracuse (Time Warner-NY, 7pm)- Mark Lawson, Dan Liedka, Chris Watson
Louisiana-Lafayette @ Nebraska (FSN PPV, 7pm)- Brent Stover, Matt Davison, Kent Pavelka
Ohio @ Tennessee (Vol PPV, 7pm)- Randy Smith, Pat Ryan, Mike Stowell
Arizona @ Oregon State (Versus, 7:30pm)- Ron Thulin, Kelly Stouffer, Lewis Johnson
Louisville @ Utah (CBS College Sports, 7:30pm)- Tom Hart, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila
Iowa @ Penn State (ABC, 8pm)- Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Lisa Salters
Notre Dame @ Purdue (ESPN, 8pm)- Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Erin Andrews
Vanderbilt @ Rice (CSS, 8pm)- Matt Stewart, Chuck Oliver, Sandra Golden

Finally we get into late night college football if you live east of the Rockies. The best game is Texas Tech traveling almost the entire length of Texas to play Houston in a game that will go past 1am Eastern. Also, USC tries to hang a half a hundred on an opponent again at home as WSU comes to down as a 44 ½ pt underdog.

Washington @ Stanford (FCS Central, 9pm)- Sean Farnham, Yogi Roth, Samantha Steele
Texas Tech @ Houston (ESPN2, 9:15pm)- Mike Patrick, Craig James, Heather Cox
New Mexico State @ New Mexico (MTN, 10pm)- Dan Gutowsky, Robert Griffith
Washington State @ USC (FSN, 10:15pm)- Barry Tompkins, Petros Papadakis, Michael Eaves

Enjoy the games everyone, I hope another Top 10 team goes down and we get more chaos. As always thanks to Awful Announcing for the weekly TV schedule.
