Saturday on the Couch – Part 2

Having a parent from Ohio and having gone to SC makes me very happy about what is going on in the Big House Boise St: the first team on Upset Alert to fall? How on earth did Cal play that badly against Colorado St?

Rules for college football fans

Many of you have no doubt seen Page 2′s “New Rules for College Football Fans to Live By.” But let’s be honest: that’s a lot to read, and somewhere around Rule 26.a.1 our eyes started to glaze over. So here’s a condensed list: 1a. Under extenuating circumstances, however, you may have up to three Division [...]

Roundup: “If it’s in the police report, it’s in the game” edition

No asterisks in this roundup. Just cold, hard facts. And snarky opinions. As the L.A. Daily News’ Scott Wolf reports in his USC blog, there is no bad blood between Pete Carroll and the guy who nearly had Carroll’s job: Mike Bellotti and Pete Carroll do not hate each other. But there is a spirted [...]

CFN’s Pete Fiutak Attacks the Summer’s Hot CF Stories

Thank you Pete Fiutak. In his mailbag, he says that John David is deserving of the preseason heisman hype, that USC is within 3 plays of having 4 straight titles (and he would have taken them over Florida). Hey as long as one writer covering college football besides Bruce Feldman likes USC and will objectively [...]
