Okay, so we’ve all talked about what Norm Chow means to UCLA, and surely you read Bill Plaschke gushing over how this may tip the balance of power to UCLA’s favor, and of course Jim Rome had a take about how this was a shot across the Trojans’ bow and how recruits will want to [...]

UCLA’s hiring of Norm Chow gives us reason to reflect a bit on the past.
It’s been three years since Norm left, and in that time SC has finished in the Top 5 each year, gotten to 11 wins each year, and played in three consecutive Rose Bowls. All great things—until you look at what happened [...]

Not only was today’s 72-63 win over the Bruins good for the program (a rare nationally televised game, even Billy “Tough Little Monkey” Packer and SEC Vern were there), but in the immediate future SC beating UCLA gave them a big boost as far as the tournament goes.
Also, Billy “You always fag out” Packer said [...]

I’ve been pondering this a lot since Chow got fired. Assuming that Chow returns to LA (which is obviously not official yet), about 50% of me is really concerned, because for the first time in a while, UCLA is making all the right moves. USC still hasn’t solved a DeWayne Walker defense, Neuheisel is that [...]

So, in today’s LA Times, Bill Plaschke practically creams himself exalting Bellotti as the man who can make UCLA the Trojans’ equal in this city. And he says that Mike Bellotti is 5-3 against Pete Carroll.
What?
Am I missing something?
Carroll lost to Oregon his first season, then Carson beat them 44-33, then they didn’t play in [...]

All we can say is wow.

From Adam Schefter:
HOUSTON — NFL coaches are returning to the college ranks, and the trend might not be over. UCLA still is looking for a head coach, and it is looking toward the NFL.
Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow is known to be a candidate. Two other possible NFL choices for UCLA would be Raiders head [...]

Let me tell you what college fantasy football has done for me. The Urban Poet is not necessarily a major college football fan. Like any good Trojan, he loves SC, hates UCLA, and talks trash about Notre Dame. Like any wise Trojan, he secretly hopes his future children will prefer UCLA, as the Urban Poet [...]

You’ve probably heard some talking heads and journalists calling Stanford-USC the biggest upset in the sport’s history. Apparently just comparing point spreads is the most efficient way to determine that, but in case you’re one of those rare college football fans who consider more than Vegas odds, here are a few fun factoids: in 2004 [...]
