Week 4 is here and the USC season is over. 11-1 is not going to get it done from the Pac-10 with 3 SEC schools in the Top 4 and Texas playing nobody but the 2 schools in Oklahoma for the rest of the season. So, with that we look forward to more college football weekends that will hopefully suck a lot less than last weekend did.

Thursday, September 24th

Thursday night brings us ESPN going back to the SEC for a showdown between #4 Ole Miss and The Ole Ball Coach’s Gamecocks. Can the South Carolina defense do enough to slow down Jevan Snead and will Erin Andrews continue to wear her glasses on the sideline to try and change her image?

Mississippi @ South Carolina (ESPN, 7:30pm) – Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews

Friday, September 25th

America will get its second look (first really) look at Missouri and their new QB Blaine Gabbert. Can Mizzou stop the Wolfpack Pistol? Will traveling to Reno (Biggest Little City in the World) be a huge mistake for the Tigers (who look to be a sleeper candidate in the Big 12 North)?

Missouri @ Nevada (ESPN, 9pm) – Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore

Saturday, September 26th

Gameday travels to State College, PA (I guess because they are hoping Miami beats Va Tech and they get to go to Miami for OU at Miami next week? Or have they just decided that they need Herbstreit on site for the post game stuff because Howard and Corso are really losing it?) I can’t wait for SC to get ripped for turnovers (which they should more than anything else).

In the Noon Eastern window the best game is on ESPNU as South Florida travels to Florida St. FSU needs to continue their momentum from the win in Provo and SFU hopes a win will make Florida a four-big-schools football state. Also, TCU at Clemson is an interesting match-up but it’s only available on ESPN360.com.

Michigan State @ Wisconsin (ESPN, Noon)- Dave Pasch, Bob Griese, Chris Spielman
Indiana @ Michigan (ESPN2, Noon)- Pam Ward, Ray Bentley

North Carolina @ Georgia Tech (Raycom, Noon)- Steve Martin, Rick Walker, Mike Hogewood
Fresno State @ Cincinnati (Big East Network, Noon)- Mike Gleason, John Congemi, Quint Kessenich (Will Air on Altitude, CST, MSG)
Buffalo @ Temple (ESPN Plus, Noon)- Michael Reghi, Doug Chapman
Marshall @ Memphis (CSS, 1pm)- Richard Cross, Brian Jordan, Melissa Lee
Texas Christian @ Clemson (ESPN360, 1pm)- Dave Weekley, Danny Kanell
San Diego State @ Air Force (MTN, 2pm)- Ari Wolfe, Blaine Fowler, Andrea Lloyd
Wake Forest @ Boston College (ESPN360, 2pm)- Ryan Rose, Jeff Genyk

In the 3:30pm Eastern window we get beaten over the head with ABC Regional College Football. We also get Verne and Gary and the SEC game of the week from CBS. I hope that Cal/Oregon is a good game and that Arkansas plays well at Alabama; however I have higher hopes for the former rather than the later. Also, Miami is now the media’s favorite team and I think they are going to lose in Blacksburg and ruin ESPN’s dream for the OU/Miami Gameday and 8pm kick next weekend.

Arkansas @ Alabama (CBS, 3:30pm)- Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson
Illinois @ Ohio State (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Ron Franklin, Ed Cunningham
Miami @ Virginia Tech (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Holly Rowe
California @ Oregon (ABC/ESPN, 3:30pm)- Terry Gannon, David Norrie
Texas-El Paso @ Texas (FSN, 3:30pm)- Bill Land, Gary Reasons, Emily Jones
Pittsburgh @ North Carolina State (ESPNU, 3:30pm)- Todd Harris, Charles Arbuckle
Western Kentucky @ Navy (CBS College Sports, 3:30pm)- Craig Bolerjack, Randy Cross
Central Florida @ East Carolina (ISP Sports, 3:30pm)- Patrick Kinas, Billy Weaver, Brian Meador
Rutgers @ Maryland (ESPN360, 3:30pm)- Jim Barbar, Jeremy Bloom
Troy @ Arkansas State (Sun Belt, 4:30pm)- Todd Kalas, Derek Rackley (Will Air on CSS, CST)

In the early evening window, we get some interesting match-ups. I will be interested in seeing Florida on the road at Kentucky as well as the Brent and Kirk game in Happy Valley (which should be a Penn State blowout). All over the dial you can find a game—the problem is that I don’t care about Notre Dame at Purdue on ESPN (I might flip by that game to see Erin Andrews and to see if the glasses are a Saturday only thing if we don’t see them Thursday @ South Carolina) and having DirecTV means I cannot see Arizona at Oregon St.

Florida @ Kentucky (ESPN2, 6pm)- Mark Jones, Bob Davie
Colorado State @ Brigham Young (MTN, 6pm)- James Bates, Todd Christensen, Sammy Linebaugh
Arizona State @ Georgia (ESPNU, 7pm)- Eric Collins, Brock Huard
Ball State @ Auburn (FSN Regional, 7pm)- Bob Rathbun, Dave Archer, Jenn Hildreth (Will Air on FS Midwest, South, Southwest; SUN)
Maine @ Syracuse (Time Warner-NY, 7pm)- Mark Lawson, Dan Liedka, Chris Watson
Louisiana-Lafayette @ Nebraska (FSN PPV, 7pm)- Brent Stover, Matt Davison, Kent Pavelka
Ohio @ Tennessee (Vol PPV, 7pm)- Randy Smith, Pat Ryan, Mike Stowell
Arizona @ Oregon State (Versus, 7:30pm)- Ron Thulin, Kelly Stouffer, Lewis Johnson
Louisville @ Utah (CBS College Sports, 7:30pm)- Tom Hart, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila
Iowa @ Penn State (ABC, 8pm)- Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Lisa Salters
Notre Dame @ Purdue (ESPN, 8pm)- Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, Erin Andrews
Vanderbilt @ Rice (CSS, 8pm)- Matt Stewart, Chuck Oliver, Sandra Golden

Finally we get into late night college football if you live east of the Rockies. The best game is Texas Tech traveling almost the entire length of Texas to play Houston in a game that will go past 1am Eastern. Also, USC tries to hang a half a hundred on an opponent again at home as WSU comes to down as a 44 ½ pt underdog.

Washington @ Stanford (FCS Central, 9pm)- Sean Farnham, Yogi Roth, Samantha Steele
Texas Tech @ Houston (ESPN2, 9:15pm)- Mike Patrick, Craig James, Heather Cox
New Mexico State @ New Mexico (MTN, 10pm)- Dan Gutowsky, Robert Griffith
Washington State @ USC (FSN, 10:15pm)- Barry Tompkins, Petros Papadakis, Michael Eaves

Enjoy the games everyone, I hope another Top 10 team goes down and we get more chaos. As always thanks to Awful Announcing for the weekly TV schedule.
