In addition to 49 coaches, it appears that 58 writers also went to sleep before the game (although it looks like 3 voters saw that USC only won by 28 and made LSU #1 on their ballots). I still don’t think anybody looked like a national title team last weekend.

You’re smart enough to realize that polls shouldn’t even start until after Week #4 or so any way, so this is all just like throwing darts at a dartboard at this point.
Oh yeah, except that the BCS uses polls. Oops.
