Today’s Houston Chronicle brings news that one of our favorite announcers, Ron Franklin, is recovering well following a concussion and surgery in the wake of a scary April car accident. His truck flipped and nearly plunged into a river near Highway 71 in Texas.

“If that sucker had gone off, I don’t see any way that we could have survived,” Franklin said. “We were very, very lucky. It was a very Good Friday.”

Glad to hear Franklin is doing well. His iconic Texas twang is one of our favorite things about college football, and we look forward to hearing it in a few weeks.
