Our friends at the worldwide leader are preparing the masses for the arrival of College Football Live. Commercials are running during standard programming preparing us for the first episode. As a college football fan this sounds like a great idea: a daily 30-minute show dedicated to College Football. Now, the rub is that it’s being shown on the worldwide leader and they don’t have the best track record with new ventures (ESPN Hollywood, Quite Frankly, Who’s Now). I am hoping that they stick to football, previewing match-ups and the news of the day (this is what David Berson promised us back in February when the show was announced: NFL Live for College Football). I am going to Tivo the first few episodes (next Monday July 23rd 3:30pm EDT/12:30pm PDT is the kick-off show) and hope that I get more than I am expecting—but right now I am not optimistic.

At least we know that Trev Alberts won’t be making any appearances. That guy sucked. a lot.

[...] Again, I was not excited about the latest venture from ESPN College Football Live.  However, with the commercials and the latest press release announcing the first week guests and the regular segments each day for the show, DAMN!  I did not expect this, I thought it would be an over produced show with little info and more promotion of ESPN games (well you will get that each week) but with the line-up they have to start and the regular features this might a great thing for college football fans.  [...]
